Chess Lessons : How the pieces move

Last post I thought you what chess is now I will tell you how the pieces move. Each player has a king, a queen, 2 bishops, 2 knights, 2 rooks, and 8 pawns.

The king can move one square in any direction.

The queen can move as far a she wants in any direction.

The bishops can move as far as they want diagonally.

The knights can move 2 spaces in one direction then 1 space to the left or right. The knight moves in an L shape

The rook can move as far as it wants in any direction except for diagonally

The pawns can move forward only. The first time a pawn moves it can move forward 1 or 2. If it is not the first time the pawn moves it can only go forward 1 space. Pawns take by moving one space diagonally. Not forward. If a pawn gets to the other side of the board it can turn into any piece.
